To all applicants:

The Columbian Lawyers Association, First Judicial Department (the “Association”) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt association. This year, the Association seeks to award up to three (3) scholarships to law students of Italian heritage attending law school in New York City and the Counties of Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester. Each award will be $5,000.  Any students enrolled in the full-time day, or part-time night, study of law at an accredited law school are eligible to apply, from 1Ls through 4L evening students, provided they complete the attached application form and include the supporting materials listed in the instructions below.

Scholarship awardees will receive a check in the amount of $5,000 from the Association to be awarded in December 2026 (date, time and location to be announced). The Scholarship awardees are strongly encouraged to attend the event in person to receive their award.

Applications for the scholarship must be submitted by end of business, Monday, October 12, 2026. Upon review of the qualifying applications, interviews with applicants may be scheduled via Zoom shortly thereafter.
